CASPER, Wyo. — Country star Cody Jinks will perform at the Ford Wyoming Center with opening guest Tanner Usrey next summer.
The performance will be on Saturday, June 28 at 7 p.m. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, according to the Ford Wyoming Center.
Jinks is an independent outlaw country artist who started his career as a thrash metal musician. According to his biography on AllMusic, he released several albums starting in the early 2010s before hitting the charts in 2016 with “I’m Not the Devil,” which reached number four on the Billboard country charts.
His latest album, titled “Change the Game,” was released earlier this year. His current tour, titled “Hippies and Cowboys,” is in support of his upcoming tribute album to country legend Lefty Frizzell, who is perhaps best known for his 1950s classic “If You’ve Got the Money (I’ve Got the Time),” which was also a hit for Willie Nelson in the 1970s.
“It’s a really divided time in our nation,” Jinks is quoted in a release issued on Monday morning. “But we’ve always been the type of band where we’ve wanted everybody. And so next year, it’s going to be a statement of, ‘Man, we’re just an American band.’ That’s what we are. We’re a honky-tonk band. We’re American music. You have country rock, rhythm and blues, all in one. We’re hippies, we’re cowboys—and we’re everything in between.”
