Former The Young and the Restless star Hunter King (ex-Summer Newman) has joined the upcoming spinoff of the CBS sitcom hit The Neighborhood. King, alongside the mothership series’ stars Marcel Spears and Sheaun McKinney, along with Justin Long, Angelique Cabral, and Kara Royster Deadline reports. The series centers on Malcolm (McKinney) and Marty Butler (Spears) as the two leave their parents’ house to start the next stage of their lives and wind up being the newcomers in a neighborhood that’s close by, but worlds apart, in Venice Beach.
King, who played the role of Summer Newman from 2012–2016 and then again from 2018–2022 on Y&R, will play Bellamy, who is listed as:
dark, sardonic and often under the influence of edibles, Bellamy works generating content for the coolest cannabis boutique in SoCal. Despite her jaded outlook, she’s also hilarious, fun and a fiercely loyal friend. Bellamy does have secret dreams of doing something bigger, but for now, she’s content in her carefully curated world of detachment and irony.
King, along with her co-stars, will have a guest stint on the season seven finale of The Neighborhood, which will serve as the backdoor pilot for the series. If the show gets picked up for the 2025-26 season, the actors have options as series regulars.
