CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Wednesday’s forecast features a little bit of everything in a short amount of time.

(KCRG)
Look for steady or falling temperatures along with isolated showers and storms this morning.

Strong to Severe Storms

Scattered showers and a few storms persist later in the morning, especially north of U.S. Highway 20. South of there, a bit of a break that could even feature a bit of a break in cloud cover will take place. This will set up a pretty sharp temperature difference between our northern zones and those in the south and east. Highs will range from the upper 30s north with cold rain to the mid 60s southeast with a hint of humidity in the air.

The afternoon brings another chance for strong or severe storms in east central Iowa. Then, rain changes to snow, and blizzard conditions are likely in our northwest zone.
Winter Weather Conditions in Northern Iowa

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for parts of our northern counties on Wednesday into Wednesday night. Franklin County is included in a Blizzard Warning that stretches across more of central and western Iowa.
Most areas see low snowfall accumulations, but slick roads are possible Wednesday night. Temperatures stay closer to normal after this storm. Stay sky-aware today and tonight.
